Indulás bp. du 6.30-kor Ferihegy 2B-ről. Travel Service légitársaság, a fedélzeten teljes ellátás (meleg vacsora + 3x italkínálat), repülési idő 3,5 óra. Időjárás Bp-en 3-4 fok, szitáló eső, néhol köd. Érkezés Hurghadába 23:30 (helyi idő +1 óra Bp-hez képest). Reptéren a King Tours helyi idegenvezetője fogad, Haddad Leyla, + 4 másik utas, másik szállodákban. Érkezés a szállodába éjjel 1 körül, vacsorával + itallal várnak, becsekkolás, szoba. Séta a tengerparton, alvás.

Starting from Budapest Ferihegy 2b airport, 18:30. Travel Service, full course on the plane, (hot dinner plus 3 times offering drinks, I am surprised), time of flight is 3,5 hours. Weather in Budapest 3-4 °C, slight rain, fog. Arriving to Hurghada at 23:30 local time (+1 hour), At the airport the representative, Haddad Layla awaits us (myself and 4 more people but they stay in different hotels). Arriving to the hotel at 1 a.m., still get dinner and drinks, check-in, getting to the room - a walk on the beach and sleep.


december 5 szombat.

Reggel 9-kor kelés, reggeli svédasztalos, amit felismerek, azt eszek = vajas kalácsféle, kávé, gyümölcs. Pár vajat lenyúlok, jól jöhet még. szálloda felfedezése, séta a tengerparton, egyelőre még fürdés nélkül, fényképezőgéppel. A szoba egyszerű kétágyas, zuhanyzós fürdőszobával, TV-vel, hűtőszekrénnyel, a földszinten, erkéllyel, a tengerparthoz legközelebbi szoba - félig arra is néz, sajnos emiatt a wifi itt már nem fogható. Valamit valamiért. A szomszéd szállodát építik, nem túl hangos, mert már inkább belül dolgoznak rajta, de néha hallható.

A tengerpart és a főút között cca. 1-1,5 km távolság van, ezen helyezkednek el a szállodakomplexumok, cca. 5-600 m-es sávokban. Itt nem divat az egy darab 30-emeletes tömb, hanem a hatalmas területen, kertekben (sziklakert, virágágyások, bokrok, pálmák között) elszórva vannak az 1-2-3 emeletes, sorházakra emlékeztető szobák-apartmanok. Minden szálloda középvonalában egy medencekomplexum van, többnyire sósvizű, 0,5-1,5 m mély, mesterséges szigetekkel, pálmákkal, napágyakkal és bárokkal a széleken. ezt kert övezi, majd kifelé több sorban, kertekkel tarkítva vannak a szobák. A parti cca. 50-80 m-es sávon éttermek, bazárok, kávézók vannak, majd a napernyőkkel, napágyakkal felszerelt part. A saját partszakasz két szélén a Reemvyrában két mesterséges homokpartot hoztak létre, ami körbeöleli a lagúnát, és hálóval kizárja a nagyobb tengeri élővilágot; ezeken napernyők és napágyak vannak, míg a két végén balra kikötő, jobbra diving-surfing-parachuting központ és sétálórész van. Az egyes szállodák partjai egymástól eléggé el vannak zárva, a komplexumok be vannak kerítve, a bejáratoknál biztonsági őrség van, csak az ottlakókat engedik be. A főépületekben vannak éttermek, boltok, recepció, bank-pénzváltó, kávézók, internet. Sajna bankautomata az ritka, a Reemvyrában nem volt, a szomszédba kellett átmenni pénzt kivenni. Internet-kávézó és wifi is volt; félóra 10 font, a wifi 1 hétre 100 font. (1 font cca. 30 forint)



Meglepődés: itt a tél nem holtszezon, a szálloda cca. 3/4-ig tele volt, és ahogy elnéztem a többi is cca. ennyire. Az időjárás szerintem tökéletes: napközben 20-25, a napon 30 fok, néha kissé szeles, de eső itt soha nem szokott esni. Este a naplemente után lehűl, és a szél is többnyire feltámad - ilyenkor 10-15 fok lehet. A tengerparton nem, de beljebb éjszaka akár 0-5 fokig is lehűl - sivatagi éghajlat. A szálloda tele van oroszokkal, angol szót alig hallani. A többi utas szerint máshol is sokan vannak, úgy tűnik nekik a tél a kedvenc szezonjuk itt.

Délután strandolás. Törölközőkártyára kapunk strandtörölközőt, a parton a hely szabadonválasztott. kicsit régies, masszív fa strandágyak, rajtuk szivacsmatraccal, a napernyők itt a pálmaleveles, susogós fajta; a medencénél valami fűféle borítja őket. A tenger cca. 20-22 fok körül lehet, a lagúna sekélyebb részeint melegebb, a sekély medencében még ennél is langyosabb, 24-25 fokos. A lagúna baloldala aprókavicsos, a jobbfele homokos, a kinyúló homokpad végénél sziklás, szaggatott, lábnyúzó. Veszek is gyorsan fürdőcipőt, 30 font, olcsóbb mint a doki ha felvágja a talpamat egy kagyló-kő-akármi. A lagúnában a víz alig fodrozódik, fürdésre tökéletes, még a gyerekek, vénasszonyok is nyugodtan belemennek, nem hideg, főleg a nap legmelegebb részén. Délután 3-4-től már itt is kezd hűvösödni, ahogy a nap egyre laposabban süt, és négy után már inkább csak a medence melletti, szélvédettebb részeken alszanak páran. A parti kerítésen lyuk, így én is átosonok itt a szomszéd szállodába, ahol van bankautomata, és veszek ki pénzt.



A medencénél és a parton is délelőtt-délután animációs programok, aerobic, tánctanulás, strandröplabda, éneklés, stb van. Napközben a különböző szolgáltatók emberei járnak körbe a parton, fizetővendégeket 'fogva' mindenfélére - itt a Reemvyrában volt szépségszalon (masszázs, szauna, stb), merülőközpont, surf, parachute és snorkeling oktatás, kirándulások hajóval, tengeralattjáróval, busszal minden ismert turistacélponthoz. Ezek időnként picit túl rámenősek voltak, de még mindig semmi azokhoz képest, akik ezekben a turistacélpontokban akartak eladni ezermillióféle dolgot - na azok már tényleg a piaci légy kategóriája voltak. Nagyon nagy a szegénység, mindenki szinte kétségbeesetten próbál meg eladni valamit, vagy segíteni, amiért baksist kérhet...

Este 7-10-ig vacsora, svédasztalos szintén. Többféle főétel (ált. csirke, hal, marhahús és egyéb), többféle köret (többféleképpen elkészített rizs, krumpli, párolt zöldség), saláták tucatnyi, leves nem sok, és nem is jók; frissensültek kevés és sokan állnak sorba értük; desszertek millióféle (halvák, édes tészták, fagylaltok, gyümölcsök, pudingok és kocsonyák). Ital itt csak a dzsúsz, tea ingyenes, a piákért fizetni kell. Az egésznapos kirándulásokra tökéletesen fel vannak készülve; a Reemvyra 400 szobájában lakó cca. 1500 emberből szinte minden nap megy 10-20-50 valamilyen kirándulásra, és ezek csomagolt reggelit kapnak, a vacsorát pedig akkor, amikor megjönnek. Ezt elég bejelenteni este a recepción és nem sokra rá már kapja is az ember a csomagolt reggelit.

Ezt ma meg is teszem, mivel a program szerint éjjel 1-kor indulunk Kairóba; mivel tőlünk nincs elég ember, így a Karthago Toursszal együtt. Este Leyla még küld egy sms-t, megerősítendő az időpontot. Az indulásig még sétálok egyet a parton este is, fényképezgetve, majd megkapom a kaját, átrakom a hátizsákba, alszok egyet, majd 1 óra előtt nem sokkal kiülök a recepcióra a buszt várni. Buszok jönnek, felszednek pár embert, mennek - csak az enyém nem jön. Fél kettőkor sms Leylának, hogy késés van - válasz nem jön. Mint kiderül, felhívta a buszt, és ott azt mondták, hogy már velük vagyok a buszon. A másik két utast is elfelejtették elvinni, nemcsak engem. Éjjel ezt nem tudva két óráig vártam a buszt majd elmentem aludni. Reggel tisztáztuk a dolgot Leylával, aki mindenért kárpótólt, megszervezte, hogy egy másik csoporttal (lengyelekkel) menjünk el mindkét kirándulásra, hétfőn (7-e) Luxorba, majd 9-én Kairóba.

Waking up at 9 in the morning, breakfast is in buffet-style, good sortiment, but a lot of things that I don't recognize yet. Morning walk around the resort with camera, getting to know it, looking around. My room is in the ground floor, a simple, twin bed affair with TV, fridge, bathroom and balcony, looking sideways to the sea. It is actually nearest to the beach, but unfortunately wi-fi is not available here. It is also next to the neighbouring resort which is under construction, but not too loud, as the work mainly on the inside now.

The resort itself: Reemvyra resort. Between the sea and the main road there is a 1-1,5 km wide strip, and the resorts are in this in 5-600 m wide strips. Here it is not usual to have one big, 40 storied building as a hotel, but they have 1-2-3 floors high, rows of houses-like buildings that contain the apartments and rooms. These building are set into big parks with lots of greenery from the rock-gardens to the flower-beds - and of course lots of palm trees. In the middle, all resort has a huge pool-complex with depth of 0,5 till 1,5 m, with artificial islands and bars, poolside tables, sunbeds and sunshades. Around this there are gardens and the rows of buildings - at the top the reception-restaurant-bars-shops - the main building. At the beach also there are sunbeds and sunshades, and also smaller restaurants, bars and shops; at the sides of the private beach there are two artificial arms, one is sandy, the other is covered; this on ends in a marina, while the sandy on has sunbeds and a diving-surfing-parachuting complex. The two arms are connected with a huge net which keeps out the bigger fauna of the Red Sea. The beaches of the separate resorts are separated from each other and also the entrances are guarded, only those who live there can go in. In the Reemvyra, there was no ATM, so I had to go to the next resort which had one (ATMs are not often can be found in Egypt). Internet-cafe and wifi they had; half an hour is 10 LE (egyptian pound ~ 0,8 euro), the wifi is 100 LE for a week.

Surprise to me: the winter is absolutely not a dead time here. The resoort was about 3/4 full, and as I could see the others were about the same. In fact the weather is about perfect now, during the day it is 20-25 degrees, and on the sun it feels like 30; sometimes it is a bit windy, but rain almost never falls. During the evening it get colder and usually wind arises too, so it is around 10-15 °C. In the desert it is even hotter during the day and colder during the night - it can cool down to near zero °C - typical desert climate. The resort, just like most of them are full of Russians, and even the staff speaks Russian a bit - it seems Russians like this weather, so it is their favourite season.

Afternoon I go to the beach for swimming and sunbathing. For a card we get beach-towels every day, so no need to dry them overnight. The sunbeds on the beach are a bit old-fashioned, heavy, wooden things with a foam-matress on them. The sunshades are the ubiqutous ones with dry palm-leaf covering. The sea in the lagoon is around 22-23 °C, in the pool even warmer, around 25 degrees. The left side of the lagoon is covered with small pebbles, the right side is sandy, with an occassional bigger rock - at the end of the sandy arm it gets definitely rocky - probably the original beach, and the sand is the artificial. I quickly buy swimming-shoes, at 30 LE they are far cheaper than the doctor if a rock or something cuts my feet. In the lagoon the water is almost still, perfect for swimming and not cold at all. at 3-4 in the afternoon it is getting colder here too, and most people go to the more wind-protected poolside sunbeds.

Both at the poolside and on the beach there are animation programs all day long; aerobic, dancing, singing, beach-volleyball, etc. During the day people go around amongst the sunbathers to offer a lot of programs for their companies; the usual ones seem to be beauty-saloon with massage and all; diving courses and trips, parachuting, snorkeling, surfing, and excursions to all popular destinations - it seems there is no low season for them either. They are all right, even if it was a bit annoying to be waken up hourly by some of them - but it was nothing compared to the annoyingness of the people at these destinations; there everyone tried desperately to sell every little trinket, fake statues, fake papyruses, or make you take photos of them, or let them do services - for baksis of course. They are really, really annoying... I understand that they want to get by by this, but I, as a turist did not come here for being harassed all the time when I want to take a photo of a beautiful old temple or something.

Dinner is from 7 till 10 each day, and it is also in a buffet style. Usually 3 types of main meat-courses (chicken, fish, beef), some freshly roasted meats; lots of side dishes, like rice, potatoes, pastas, steamed vegetables; lots of fresh salads with various garnishes; and literally dozens of desserts, from pastas, to puddings, and some that I know no name for. Only the soft drinks are free, alcoholic ones must be paid separately. They are absoluetly prepared for the turist going for whole-day excursions; from the over 400 rooms, and cca. 1200 people every day around 1-2 dozen go for some kind of a trip; they get a pre-packed breakfast, and late dinner.

And so I ask for it, as we are supposed to go to Kairo during this night - leaving ast 1 a.m. - because our company has not enough people, we go with the Karthago Tours people. Before the start, I walk around a bit the darkening seaside, making some photos, then get the packed breakfast, put it to my backpack, and sit at the reception, waiting for the coach. Buses come, pick up people, and go - but mine does not. after being half an hour late I send sms to Leyla - no answer, as she calls the coach and they say I am on the bus. They actually left me, and the other two people from King Tours... In the morning phone to Leyla, we clear the matter, and it was the other tour operator's fault; Layla organizes that we join another group, some Polish ones, so we go to all planned trips with them.
